Materials fee: $75 for pre-wound warp (shipped directly to participant), weft brought to workshop, and substantial printed handouts.
A gamp for every loom! Gamps are a brilliant way of testing ideas and making new discoveries while also weaving the samples we know we ought to have but hate to make. This round robin workshop features a collection of gamps of various types: overshot, twill, color in plain weave and twill, sett, color and weave, lace, etc.
This smorgasbord of gamps also provides an opportunity for discussions and demonstrations designed to help students refine their weaving technique, learn advanced weaving skills, increase their understanding of written drafts, and gain comfort and confidence at the loom.
Gamptastic is designed for students who already have some experience in weaving and drafting.
Looms must be dressed in advance.
Students to bring dressed loom, bobbins and shuttles for the project on the loom, bench if needed, misc weaving tools (weights, sley hooks, etc.)
